I spent a semester at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad, doing research for my undergraduate thesis. While there, I read a book that remains one of my favorites of all time: A house for Mr Biswas by V.S. Naipaul. Because I often miss hearing the varied accents of Trinidad, and because I love the book so, I was really happy to find that the BBC has produced a radio version. I’ve listened to an hour so far and it exceeds my expectations.

Thanks to knowledgeable houseguests, I now know what the tiny-apple-looking things are in the front yard. Other information acquired includes the correct pronunciation of ‘artisanal’ and how lobsters mate.
